Amazon Software Engineer, LMDT- WW Flex Pricing in Austin, Texas
Description
Work with Machine Learning implement the pricing outputs for Amazon Flex, our Gig work offering. Collaborate with our Product owners and Economists to deliver on our commitment to drivers and customers.
Key job responsibilities
Design solutions based on requirements from our product and science partners.
Ensure solutions can operate at Amazon scale world wide.
Understand the architecture of both our Native and Managed AWS systems and make recommendations to enhance and improve them.
Estimate, plan, and execute coding deliverables on a consistent and reliable basis.
A day in the life
A developer on the Flex Pricing team will start their day by checking various systems (e-mail, slack, etc.) for any unique items that require immediate attention. They attend our sync meeting each day, providing an update on their status and requesting any needed help. Throughout the day they will work to advance their assigned deliverables. They will attend meetings that require their input and expertise to help steer and plan future work.
About the team
The Flex Pricing team owns the data and systems that supports issuing millions of pricing decisions made across our world wide network each day. We are a team that is passionate about understanding the impact these decisions make on the Flex product for our Delivery Partners and the broader gig ecosystem. Our team is highly collaborative and supportive of one another, understanding that we all succeed by lifting one another up.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
