Amazon Software Development Engineer (SDE II), Amazon Exports and Expansions in Austin, Texas

Description

This Amazon Exports & Expansions team is looking for a Software Development Engineer to help expand Amazon Marketplace into new parts of the world. You'll contribute to the tech vision, strategy, and road map of one of the most important initiatives across Amazon. You will enable innovative technology solutions that directly improve customer and seller experience around the world, impacting a multi-billion dollar business.

In this role you will:

  • Enable solutions that reach millions of new customers all over the world, providing them with a world class shopping experience in their local language, payments, and currencies.

  • Work across all tiers leveraging Service-Oriented Architecture, mobile platforms, user experience, analytics and data mining.

  • Drive customer experience technology for supporting customers all over the world.

  • Work closely with the business to define the expansion strategy and figure out innovative solutions to help this thriving business continue to its exponential growth

This team helps Amazon Customers across the world gain access to the benefits of buying through Amazon. Customers are able to buy products in local marketplaces their language, using local currency and payment methods. We enable customers to purchase products sourced from local and international vendors and sellers, delivered quickly to their door and at competitive prices.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
