We’re looking for a passionate and results-oriented Software Development Engineer to develop large scale, fault tolerant and high availability software systems using mathematical modeling, ML and simulations. You will directly impact our direct customers, and even play with big data and incredible scale in the background.

Key job responsibilities

High level responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Build large-scale, highly distributed systems solving complex logistics problems for the Amazon supply chain business.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, program managers, and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet technical and business requirements.

  • Participate in the full software development life cycle, including writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, conducting code reviews, deploying production-ready software to Amazon's infrastructure and supporting the software in production.

  • Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across multiple systems and services, collaborating with other teams as needed.

  • Drive operations excellence by analyzing ticket root causes, and reduce both short-term and long-term operational load.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
