We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Manager to recruit and engage seller groups for strategic partnerships.

The Senior Business Development Manager (SBDM) will advocate internally and externally on behalf of Amazon. The SBDM should have proven analytical capabilities and project management skills, great attention to detail, the ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task and a proven record of driving growth. The SBDM must be an effective driver and communicator in working with other key stakeholders, including sellers, account managers, product teams, and senior leadership.

You will influence and build relationships with top seller groups to drive revenue and increase selection coverage. This position requires an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to influence a diverse set of stakeholders across multiple teams.

Using your deep knowledge of the Automotive landscape, and your solution-oriented mindset, you will develop opportunities for Amazon. You are an excellent oral and written communicator and you possess an analytical approach to business development, leveraging data to drive decisions. You are highly organized and have the ability to work closely and constructively cross-functional teams. You're particularly adept at developing strong, one-to-one relationships and possess a track record of successful negotiation.

This role may require business travel to seller locations

Key job responsibilities

1) Generate leads through leveraging other areas of business in Amazon and or networking at industry events with the top seller groups

2) Identify opportunities for business growth and expansion within the top seller groups in the industry.

3) Foster strong relationships with large seller groups to ensure a collaborative and productive partnership.

4) Build and nurture strong relationships with sellers, addressing concerns, and promoting a positive partnership environment.

5) Keeping up with the latest industry developments, including market positioning of corporate competitors

A day in the life

This role will play a critical part in scaling and expanding our program. Initially, this role will work to reach out to our first sellers through pitching Amazon value proposition to onboarding. As the program evolves, this role will focus on building scalable processes and playbooks like creating business development playbook starting from lead generation and vetting to onboarding. An ideal candidate is analytical, autonomous, and cross functionally collaborative with effective communication skills.

About the team

We are a newly formed team with a vision to create innovative discovery and shopping experiences on Amazon, providing customers better convenience and more selection. We’re collaborating with other experienced teams at Amazon to define the future of how customers research and shop for products in the complex automotive space.

Arlington, VA, New York, NY, Seattle, WA

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience

  • 6+ years of professional or military experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations

  • 3+ years of experience with sales tools such as Digital Retail, Desking, CRM (Salesforce) or similar software

  • 3+ years of experience developing and executing GTM strategies

  • 3+ years of experience building scalable processes and sales playbooks

  • Automotive industry experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience influencing internal and external stakeholders

  • Experience working with technical and product stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize features, and influence product roadmaps

  • Experience with business development, partnership management, or sourcing new business

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
