NVIDIA is looking for an excellent Firmware Design Engineer for NVIDIA FW PHY Group. The person will closely work with Physical Layer development, architecture teams and gain a deep understanding of NVIDIA's Networking products and technologies. This position is located onsite in our Austin, Texas office.

What you'll be doing:

  • Work on developing the next generation PHY layer connectivity for InfiniBand & Ethernet Switches, GPUs (NVIDIA AI platforms) and Network Adapter (NIC) product lines.

  • Be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering new networking features, debugging real problems of FW PHY flows on customer setups.

  • End to End development cycle from preparing and reviewing specification documents, HLDs, coding, unit testing, integration testing and verification.

  • Occasionally participate in live joint debug sessions with customers and root cause the issues n their network deployments & provide resolutions, workaround to their problems.

  • Innovate! Significantly enhance NVIDIA products to the next level.

  • Collaborate with other Nvidia R&D teams around the globe.

What we need to see:

  • 8-10 years of relevant experience developing firmware for embedded systems.

  • 5+ years of experience with C in Real-Time Embedded system.

  • MS (preferred) or BS in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

  • Knowledge in System Networking in PHY (L1) layer.

  • Strong technical debugging skills.

  • Creative, motivated and collaborative person.

  • Comfortable working with teams across time-zones and international as well.

  • A problem solving attitude and strong communication skills

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Previous experience working with Networking Products like Network Adapters/Switches

  • Proven experience with Networking applications and protocols

  • Background with Git/Gerrit and other configuration management tools.

  • Experience with python

  • Knowledge of real-time SW and Linux

The base salary range is 180,000 USD - 339,250 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
