UL, LLC Senior Director Sales, S&A - Americas in Austin, Texas

Leads a Region and directs and controls the activities of the sales teams in that territory. Has overall responsibility for the successful sale of UL Solution’s Software products and Advisory services across multiple related teams, potentially across multiple regions or territories. Develops and executes long-term divisional strategy to achieve key business objectives. Works with regional leadership to identify cross-selling opportunities with Global Accounts, TIC, Software and Advisory sellers.

  • Develop strategy and priorities for selling within a region and identifying opportunities to cross-sell with Global and Strategic Accounts and across S&A

  • Set and meet specific quarterly or annual sales goals. Establish processes, systems, and operating rhythm to monitor and report progress to UL Solutions and S&A senior leadership.

  • Achieve top line S&A revenue targets within assigned territory and business

  • Participate in industry conferences and events to share expertise and develop customer pipeline and reinforce UL Solution expertise in specific products, services, and industries.

  • Execute land and expand strategy to increase UL Solutions market penetration

  • Provide Customer Insights that will help develop new offering creation and its deployment and bundling of solutions.

  • Plan and coordinate the implementation of business plans and the penetration of new markets and customer segments in coordination with each business leader.

  • Drive customer satisfaction (measured by NPS and retention), account growth (orders), and expansion of services provided by S&A and sustain customer loyalty.

  • Execute go-to-market strategy in alignment with the commercial organization design principles.

  • Collaborate with each COU and Sub-COU Business Leader on account & sales coverage options to achieve S&A growth objectives, as well as the marketing organization on portfolio strategy.

  • Set strategy for partnership with Tier II and Tier III regions

  • Develop, communicate, and manage the successful performance of sales executive revenue goals.

  • Understand and effectively leverage customer, industry, and internal sales information to drive performance and sustain a competitive edge.

  • Lead client engagement by developing and managing relationships at the C-Suite and middle management level for large customers.

  • Direct the development and execution of client engagement plans that detail business goals and strategies which deliver customer solutions.

  • Manage the performance of direct reports by developing accountabilities, establishing performance objectives, providing career counseling, feedback, and guidance, and ensuring that all policies are understood and adhered to.

  • University Degree (Equivalent to bachelor’s degree) in Business Administration or a related discipline plus 10 years of experience in sales with prior sales force management experience.

  • MBA is preferred.

  • Typically, 8+ years of general global management experience in dynamic manufacturing, investors, banking or engineering sectors, and similar technology-based industries and services.

  • Experienced executive in Software, Consulting, Digital, and technical business are desired.

  • Strong technical and business/economic foundation, including formal account planning, sales strategy development, sales tracking, portfolio selling, and measurement.

  • Ability to interact with customers throughout all levels of their organization which include highly visible activities such as negotiating, presenting, and selling.

  • Requires a focused individual that has a clear vision and can think strategically.

  • Ability to work and lead in a matrixed organizational structure.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Digital / tech-savvy.

  • Business and Financial acumen.

  • Demonstrated progressive management experience leading teams in a software company

  • Demonstrated progressive experience leading account managers, or sales teams. Professional services experience is a plus.

  • Demonstrated progressive experience leading managers of teams in a SaaS or subscription enterprise software company

  • Proven experience leading teams, driving new and expansion sales, driving software adoption, and leveraging customer success best practices

  • Proven ability to develop strategies, translate them into initiatives and track successful delivery

  • Demonstrated ability to lead managers and successfully manage global, distributed teams across cultures, lines of business, and geographies

  • Possesses a strong management presence and leadership ability, with communication and interpersonal skills that inspire and motivate leaders and teams

  • Demonstrated operational excellence in analytical thinking, process development and improvement, problem solving, communication, delegation, and planning

  • Able to be flexible and agile in responding to evolving business priorities and dealing with ambiguity

  • Able to collaborate across the organization and with external stakeholders

  • Experience successfully working with senior (C-level) executives

  • Holds strong operational skills that will drive organizational efficiencies and customer satisfaction

  • Willing and able to address escalated client issues with speed and urgency
