Strengthen UTs employer ecosystemThe Director shall serve as a university-wide expert on employer engagement and recruiting strategy and lead the strategic growth of employer relationships. This leader will collaborate closely with each of the career services offices across campus to assess and develop employer engagement strategies. Their team will cultivate and grow UT Austins employer ecosystem for all undergraduate and graduate programs resulting in increased hiring opportunities for UT talent. Specifically, this team will be charged to deliver high-caliber, relevant job opportunities each academic year based on shared needs of colleges and schools.Research and TrackConduct regular economic analysis to identify local, regional, national, and global hiring trends. Evaluate macro and micro market events to anticipate economic impacts on industry hiring. Predict and capitalize on trends and emerging developments in the global marketplace relevant to UT Austins strengths and diversity of programs. Track and maintain a comprehensive database of past, current, and potential employers for UT Austin talent. Create processes that ensure each college and school across UT Austin has employment visibility into their graduating class each semester.InnovateCraft and execute a robust vision for employer development, acting as the front door and connector across the university to facilitate relationships, grow support for key initiatives and partnerships, and drive results. Utilize data-informed decision-making to enhance and develop strategic engagement opportunities. Go beyond traditional employer relations (e.g. On Campus Recruiting), to amplify recruiting engagement through programming related to start-ups, professional development industry events, and alumni affinity. Attend and support virtual, on and off campus employer/recruiting events to contribute to high value engagement experience, remain informed, and continually improve engagements.CommunicateDevelop strategies to successfully position the portfolio of UT Austin talent to potential employers, aligning the interests of the campus community, the preeminent UT Austin brand, and emerging talent needs. Provide input on employer and corporate relations communication and marketing materials. Drive cross-functional collaboration and operational efficiency through effective tracking and organization-wide communication that elevates and shares timely industry insights with a matrix of internal teams who support career education and coaching. Enhance the business development strategy for all undergraduate and graduate programs through shared insights from career services offices, corporate relations, and alumni engagement. Establish measurable criteria for employer development goals, maintain records, and submit monthly reports to campus leaders on the efficacy of outreach efforts. Ensure that campus employer teams are innovative and nimble in response to market changes and employment trends including evolving talent needs due to industry trends, global pandemic, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and other factors changing the nature of work.ManageLead a team responsible for research, business development, employer engagement, project management, and other related campus-wide initiatives. Foster a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing team culture. Manage a budget of business development activities, including expenses related to travel, events, marketing, and technology.
