Description

As a member of the Threat Detection and Incident Response Practice in the AWS Global Services Security organization, you will have the opportunity to apply your problem-solving, mathematical and coding skills to manipulate data and extract valuable insights to help customers respond to security incidents. You will pioneer technically superb security intelligence solutions to help customers operate securely in the cloud, and, building on those experiences, you’ll collaborate with AWS service teams on new features, innovate with new technologies, and explore new challenges..

Key job responsibilities

• Conduct analyses, build robust automated dashboards and self-service analytics to empower AWS security teams to make decisions based on applicable insights

• Analyze data related to security events and malicious threat patterns to identify and measure the impact of different threat actor techniques

• Assist with data collection pertaining to areas such as cybersecurity and threat intelligence

• Identify data outliers that indicate novel Tactics, Techniques and Procedures

• Become a subject matter expert on threat actor techniques and tie the techniques to data driven analysis

• Collaborate on the design, building, and deployment of solutions to automate security operations and threat intelligence on AWS

Basic Qualifications

• 1+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience

• Master's degree, or Bachelor's degree

• Experience in Java, C++, Python, or a related language

• 1+ years of data scientist or similar role involving data extraction, analysis, statistical modeling and communication experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with clustered data processing (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Map-reduce, and Hive)

• Experience in problem solving and data analytics

• Machine learning pipeline orchestration with AWS (SageMaker, Batch, Lambda, and Step Functions) or similar cloud-platforms
