Robert Half Sales Associate in Austin, Texas

Description We are searching for a dedicated and customer-oriented Sales Assistant to join our team in Austin, Texas. This role is pivotal in providing top-notch customer service, handling cash transactions, and supporting our sales efforts within a bustling and dynamic retail environment. This is a short-term contract position offering the chance to work within a theatrical event setting and gain valuable experience in customer service and retail.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate customer transactions, ensuring accurate and efficient processing.

• Provide information about merchandise and highlight relevant offers to promote sales.

• Develop strong product knowledge to provide insight and advice to customers.

• Maintain a friendly and engaging demeanor to ensure a positive shopping experience for all customers.

• Adhere to the dress code, including wearing the provided uniform shirt.

• Handle physical tasks such as standing for extended periods and lifting boxes up to 40 lbs.

• Learn quickly and adapt to high-volume retail/cash handling duties.

• Participate in mandatory orientation and training sessions.

• Support the team by being available for 3-4 shifts per week, including at least one weekend matinee.

• Utilize strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively. Requirements • Proven experience in a Sales Assistant role or similar customer service position

• Strong knowledge of sales principles and customer service practices

• Proficient in handling cash and processing transactions

• Excellent communication skills and ability to provide top-notch customer service

• Familiarity with retail and merchandising practices

• Ability to effectively use a workstation and other office equipment

• Knowledge of hiring processes and training methods

• Experience with video tools and R code would be a plus

• Ability to track system and provide insightful analysis of sales trends

• Basic understanding of theatre and theatrical elements can be beneficial

• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and foster a positive work environment

• Strong multitasking abilities and attention to detail

• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
