TEXAS WORKFORCE COMMISSION Quality Assurance Analyst (Telework) in Austin, Texas

This position is based at 1411 Brazos St, Austin, Texas, but is eligible for telecommuting from anywhere in the State of Texas.

WHO YOU ARE: Our team is looking for a collaborative and customer-focused IT professional to join our Quality Assurance team. We are searching for an individual with proven experience in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), who can contribute to our ongoing efforts in performance, security, and continuous improvement. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are a must.

WHAT YOU WILL DO: The Quality Assurance Analyst is selected by and accountable to the Quality Assurance and Test Engineer Manager with the approval of the IT Central Intake and Quality Assurance Director, Deputy Chief Information Officer and Chief Information Officer. Performs highly complex to advanced (senior-level) computer systems analysis work. Work involves developing policies, procedures, and templates for use in Applications Solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring templates and standards are in line with the Department of Informational Resources (DIR). The Analyst provides systems analyst training to TWC administrative and program areas with a mission of providing a robust Software Development Life Cycle and Project Management Life Cycle.

Work is performed under limited to minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Maintains a reliable predictable work schedule. May provide guidance or oversee the work of others. May serve as backup to the Manager. May be called upon to work outside of normal business hours to complete urgent assignments or troubleshoot critical issues.

YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO: -Develop software engineering (SE) policies, procedures, and templates required for use in AS and works with IT Performance Analytics to update SOPs in the IT Handbook. -Train IT staff on SE procedures and templates, provides Tier 1 support to Applications Solutions staff on SE practice. -Perform random sampling of SE efforts for QA compliance with a goal of helping staff and teams improve the quality of their work.

YOU ARE A GREAT FIT WITH: -Experience as a systems analyst, Project Manager, or developer and three years of experience implementing SDLC. -Experience with auditing methodology. -Skills in research and investigations. -Knowledge of SDLC (agile, waterfall) principles and practices. -Proactive and detail-oriented; able to manage multiple concurrent projects and tasks; and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. -Experience with Microsoft Windows and Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint. Experience with SharePoint and ALM Octane. -Strong ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. -Experience in TWC technology platforms. -Experience with TWC IT Policies and Procedures. -Experience in Public Sector delivery.

YOU QUALIFY WITH: -Systems Analyst IV: Three of full-time experience in computer programming, systems analysis and/or program analysis or three years of full-time experience which provided general knowledge of data processing or systems analysis. -Systems Analyst V: Four years of full-time experience in computer programming, systems analysis, and/or program analysis or four years of full-time experience which provided general knowledge of data processing or systems analysis. -Both: Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
