Job Description

We are looking for a Project Manager to work on an EHR project. This position will be full-time contract and hybrid.

What You’ll Do

  • Creation of all necessary project documentation such as business case workbooks, project charters and schedules, biennial operating plans and amendments

  • Requirements gathering, coordination, reporting, planning, researching, and evaluating project management

  • Developing data conversion and migration plans and implementation strategy

  • Work with business owners and IT to oversee the solution vendor managing application/data migration efforts, assuring the use of best practices and standards

  • Assist in the coordination and optimization of HHSC operations and program functions and provide recommendations

  • Act as liaison between business users and vendors to provide required information

  • Work under limited direction with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment

What You'll Need

Required:

  • EHR domain experience

  • Experience in managing multiple projects and implementing EHR applications or similar large applications across large organizations

  • Knowledge of databases like InterSystems Caché Database, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server

  • Skill in using MS Project, EXCEL, Word, Visio, Jira, and other project management tools

  • Ability to research, gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts; devise solutions to problems; prepare concise reports; analyze and solve complex problems; and prioritize information and issues

  • Experience in developing migration and implementation strategy

  • Experience in EHR application domain, application migration, workflow analysis, design, development of SDLC artifacts, and support using software engineering practices

  • Ability to manage existing staff in developing data migration activities and application implementation

  • Strong interpersonal abilities to lead diverse teams and inspire high productivity and collaboration among team members

  • Ability to appropriately summarize and escalate issues and develop and present weekly status updates (written and verbal) and conduct regular project team status meetings

  • Experience in managing application migration, data mapping, and data cleaning efforts

  • Experience in communicating with all stakeholders, vendors, staff, team, and leadership on day-to-day activities and facilitating ownership and understanding of project goals and objectives

  • Experience in conducting meetings with business subject matter experts and working with system analysts to document business workflow for existing systems

  • Ability to address any questions that vendor has and act as liaison between IT, Business, and vendor

Preferred:

  • Prior experience with SaaS model EHR systems and cloud data migrations

  • Experience with HHSC Federal State processes and documentation, project documentation such as business case workbooks and project charters

  • PMP Certification

  • Familiarity with existing and planned software technology and the global, regional, and local software architecture and infrastructure components

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards

  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
