New Student Orientation: Advise incoming students and assist with course registration; address parent concerns; participate in college and parent meetings and other orientation related activities as assigned; participate in all FSP orientation activities.Program Representation: Attend college events when called upon; assist with trainings, end-of-semester celebrations, and other social events; assist with parent and other information sessions. Participate in professional development and serve on committees.Routine and Developmental Advising: Provide information on degree requirements, academic policies, institutional rules, regulations, and resources; barriers to and alternatives for completing 30 hours per academic year; advantages to graduating in four years; choosing a major/minor; identifying educational/career/life goals.Student Community Development: Supervise and coordinate work of FSP executive board and Peer Mentors; work with graduate assistant(s) and mentors to manage aspects of the program including Public Relations, Mentor Support and Training, Community Building, and Workshops; manage structure and oversight of executive board; increase number of development opportunities for FSP students and mentors, as well as attendance at events. Collaborate with OSE programs for continual community development. Maintain ongoing relationship with successive FSP student cohorts. Coordinate FSP mentor recruitment, hiring, interview and selection process; participate in phone campaign to recruit and retain FSP Scholars. Oversee mentor training and preparation of training materials.Student Records and Communication: Collect and compile data on FSP cohorts for retention purposes. Organize essential administrative paperwork for FSP. Support FSP Student Support Coordinator and OSE Director's initiatives. Coordinate promotional materials. Oversee FSP online and social media presence.Supervise Student Support Coordinator and FSP Graduate Assistant and Interns.Oversee all program components of the new FSP 2nd Year Experience, which includes student interaction with professional mentors/coaches, monthly professional development workshops with cohort, and one-on-one meetings with program participants.Other related functions as assigned
