Job Summary and Qualifications

As an Operating Room Analyst, you will increase profitability of the Surgical Services department by creating better use of information technology and related systems. You will assist operating room staff in the optimal use of computer systems applications, including coordinating the integration of operating room systems with internal and external systems as well as acting as a liaison to other hospital departments.

  • You will install, plan, coordinate, and educate others on system applications, installation, upgrades and updates

  • You will ensure data integrity through periodic audits, and review and revise policies and procedures in the use of supplied system software

  • You will create and maintain all ORM dictionaries, forms, queries and responses related to OR documentation and billing

  • You will be responsible for the integrity of the OR module in both test and live for surgical or procedural documentation/scheduling

  • You will produce cost reports and revenue reports for end-of-month reporting

  • You will collaborate with Nurse Educator- Surgical Services to maintain all teaching materials related to Meditech for surgical and/or procedural employees

  • You will create and/or maintain Surgical menus for all perioperative staff, as well as maintain standard HCA Meditech ORM CDS screens

  • You will support hospital staff as requested and coordinate with other departments needs as they interface to OR/PACU nursing/scheduling documentation

  • You will work with IT&S staff to coordinate the installation of the computer system for OR documentation in new or reorganized departments of surgical services

  • You will assist Information Services in the coordination of hardware issues and troubleshooting for Surgical Services

  • You will create NPR and department reports to provide statistics/data for Administration, QI/QM, Finance, Surgical Services, and for special projects

  • You will participate in the PI/QI program for Surgical Services departments, and attend market meetings/corporate meetings regarding OR module

What qualifications you will need:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science

Licenses and Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
