The Creative Media Designer will assist with complex to highly complex multimedia operation and production work in the Child Support Division Training Section. Works involves the design of graphics and interactive media materials using audio/visual equipment to produce training materials and conducts short-term and long-term planning and management for events for child support personnel. May train others. OAG employees enjoy excellent benefits (https://ers.texas.gov/Benefits-at-a-Glance) along with tremendous opportunities to do important work at a large, dynamic state agency making a positive difference in the lives of Texans.ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONSAssist in producing audio and video recording session as well as podcast, editing and mixing visual effects for the development of training content; generate concept to help stakeholder visualize their designDesign and produce graphic and interactive media material; consult with interdepartmental agency staff and provide technical graphic and/or multimedia adviceListen and collaborate with all stakeholders, incorporate others vision into their work, provide options, and steer projects from start to finishConsult as needed with conference planning team to provide audio-visual support for events; Have excellent communication skills; have organizational skills; be able to multitask and prioritize tasks; have problem-solving skillsMaintain an archive of electronic production files, artwork, web design and imagesReview and approve production proofsServe as a liaison with contractors and suppliers on media projects for the procurement of materials and supplies.Help analyze content for accessibility, recommend changes to make content accessible, and remediate accessibility issuesAbility to travel overnight for A/V support of live events for the agencyPerforms related work as assignedMaintains relevant knowledge necessary to perform essential job functionsAttends work regularly in compliance with agreed-upon work scheduleEnsures security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected informationComplies with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSCreative Media Designer I:Education: Graduation from high school or equivalentEducation: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university; experience working in the following (or closely related) fields may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis: professional reproduction, preparing audio/visual materials, operating audio/visual equipment; communications, film, graphics design development, multimedia/video productionExperience: One year of full-time experience working in the following (or closely related) fields: professional reproduction, printing/publication, preparing audio/visual materials, operating audio/visual equipment; communicat ons, film, graphics design development, multimedia/video production.Knowledge of audio/visual techniques and practicesSkill in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlinesSkill in effective oral and written communicationSkill in exercising sound judgment and effective decision makingAbility to receive and respond positively to constructive feedbackAbility to work cooperatively with others in a professional office environmentAbility to provide excellent customer serviceAbility to arrange for personal transportation for business-related travelAbility to work in person at assigned OAG work location, perform all assigned tasks at designated OAG work space within OAG work location, and perform in-person work with coworkers (e.g., collaborating, training, mentoring) for the entirety of every work week (unless on approved leave)Ability to work more than 40 hours as needed and in compliance with the FLSAAbility to lift and relocate 30 lbs.Ability to travel (including overnight travel) up to 5%Creative Media Designer II:All of the above for a Creative Media Designer I Plus:Experience: Two (2) additional years of full-time experience working in the following (or closely related) fields: professional reproduction, printing/publication, preparing audio/visual materials, operating audio/visual equipment; communications, film, graphics design development, multimedia/video production.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience: Multimedia production/editing, printing, or reproductionKnowledge of production processes including, but not limited to, proficiency in PhotoShop, InDesign, Illustrator, Audition, After Effects, Premiere Pro; and Vyond; A/V support for live eventsSkills: Operating audio/visual equipment in studio and at live eventsSkills: Microsoft Office SuiteSkills: Graphics software TO APPLY To apply for a job with the OAG, electronic applications can be submitted through CAPPS Recruit.
