Performs complex planning and programming activities in support of the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) and/or transportation projects. The STIP is TxDOT's federally required, fiscally constrained capital improvement program which contains multi-modal transportation projects and investments that are expected to be funded and ready for construction or implementation within the next four years. The STIP Planner is a critical role within TxDOT's planning and programming process, responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring the STIP in accordance with state and federal requirements. The STIP Planner serves as a liaison between state agencies, Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs), local governments, and federal partners to ensure the successful planning and delivery of transportation projects. Essential Duties:Planner III:Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), including tasks such as project review, tracking, and data analysis.Collaborate with local and regional stakeholders to gather, verify, and maintain accurate project details.Support the development of STIP financial summaries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations.Provide technical assistance and support for planning tools and systems used in the STIP process.Perform routine data management tasks, including organizing datasets, conducting quality checks, and generating reports to support decision-making. Planner IV:All the Above and:Coordinate with Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs), local agencies, and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely updates to the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP).Lead efforts to refine methodologies for project review, tracking, and financial summary preparation, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements.Analyze and validate data to support program development and make recommendations for improvements in planning processes.Prepare detailed reports and financial summaries for review by leadership and submission to state and federal partners.Act as a liaison with stakeholders, fostering collaboration and alignment on transportation planning and funding priorities.
