Amazon Lifecycle Engineering Project Manager, GES Sustainability & Automation in Austin, Texas

The Global Engineering Services - Sustainability and Automation (GESSA) Team is seeking a skilled and organized Project Manager specializing in Lifecycle Engineering & Management for Amazon’s growing fleet of Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) and related technologies for the world-wide Fulfillment Center network. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end process of PIT Acceptance, managing End of Life (EOL) transitions, and optimizing Fleet Management activities. The GESSA team supports the Global Engineering Services organization in deployment of advanced technology on Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) and related material handling equipment (MHE). This position requires the ability to innovate and implement process improvement projects to improve the safety and efficiency of our fulfillment centers.
This candidate should be a highly experienced program manager with a history of delivering complex technical projects. A background in PIT, hydrogen fuel cells, distribution processes and storage systems is a plus. The candidate must be a self-starter, possessing the ability to manage multiple complex projects and tasks simultaneously as well as be able to influence, and develop relationships at all organizational levels. Finally, the candidate must have unique skills in quickly understanding complex technologies, becoming a subject matter expert when needed.
Key job responsibilities
Test, verify and ensure new PIT equipment is delivered and commissioned in line with Industry and Amazon specifications
Manage escalations and rework of deviations among internal and external stakeholders
Manage data inputs resulting from audits; including vendor KPI’s, initial quality, and on time delivery
Be the liaison between technical requirements, vendors, and internal Amazon stakeholders.
Rapidly engage and understand complex technical systems, providing sharp root cause analysis to issue resolution
Initiate PIT fleet right-sizing opportunities with FC/DC Leadership optimizing utilization to enhance efficiencies
Ability to work within and understand technical systems in hardware, software, and networking
Create and drive imitative updates to Senior Leadership, planning, and execution teams
Own a diverse portfolio of short & long-term technical initiatives focused on building a Global Fleet Management Program (Document Writing, Wiki page management, data pipeline coordination, etc.)
20% Travel will be required

Basic Qualifications
3+ years of program or project management experience
3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
3+ years of driving process improvements experience
Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
