TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION K860 TxDOT Maintenance Assessment Program (TxMAP) Specialist - Maintenance Division in Austin, Texas

Provides high-level professional expertise for collection, oversight and administration of the statewide Texas Maintenance Assessment Program (TxMAP). This program requires extensive statewide travel to all 25 TxDOT districts to conduct assessment of all aspects of maintenance on the state highway system. Evaluates assessment results for use in the statewide allocation of resources and evaluates district performance from year to year. This position will conduct closeout meetings with each of the districts to provide a clear picture of the data collected. This position will also conduct peer to peer training/workshops with up and coming maintenance supervisors across the state. Work requires extensive statewide travel including of multiple hours drives to collect data. This position also assist with TxDOT emergency response during major events across the state. This position requires contact with other governmental agencies, external entities and internal customers. Employees at this level are virtually self-supervising and assume direct accountability for the work product. This job can be remote work from home or approved maintenance office within 2 hours of Austin Texas. Essential Duties: Oversees and conducts statewide maintenance quality control evaluation program for all TxDOT highways.May serve as project leader.Performs evaluations of the districts' roadway inspects and evaluates roadways.Prepares and makes presentationsProvides technical expertise and coordination for maintenance operations including prioritizing projects, monitoring correspondence and writing memorandums and reports.Researches and evaluates data, interprets and analyzes results, prepares reports and recommends solutions to problemsServes on technical advisory panels, research committees and task forcesTrains other employees in various aspects of maintenance programsTravels to districts and maintenance offices to perform site visits and monitor maintenance programsDuring emergencies, may represent the Department at national, state or local levels.Serves as incident commander and liaison during active major weather events, disaster or other emergency responses.Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
