SHI Jr. IT Operations - Internship in Austin, Texas

Job Summary

The Jr. IT Operations Internwillassistwith a variety of tasks related to system administration, network management, hardware asset management and IT support, contributing to the smooth operation of our ITdepartment.In this role you will provide excellent customer service to SHI’s employees and apply necessary troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical issues.  

This position will report to theAustin, TX orSomerset, NJ office location.

Responsibilities

Includes but not limited to

  • Provide first-line response via phone, email, or incident management system for desk side and remote usersrequiringassistancewith IT issues.

  • Facilitate team with entering and managing incidents in the incident management system and liaise between customers and technical escalation teams.

  • Collaborate with the team on open incidents and provide status updates and feedback to end users while incidents are investigated.

  • Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software components.

  • Collaborate with the team to build and support end-user computers using disk imaging methods and customize systems.

  • Organize andmaintainhardware and spare parts inventory, including hardware asset management.

  • Facilitate team with troubleshooting network connectivity problems for both in-house and remote offices.

  • Troubleshoot software applications such as Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, Skype, CRM, and various in-house sales tools.

  • Assistin monitoring andmaintainingIT systems and networks to ensureoptimalperformance and uptime.

  • Support and advocate all security initiatives and policies, collaborating with IT team members to implement security measures and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in good academic standing working towards a bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or related field.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Basic understanding of IT systems, networks, and hardware components, with familiarity in operating systems such as Windows and Linux.

Unique Requirements

  • The intern selected will berequiredto work 29 hoursa week over a specified 12-week duration.

Additional Information

  • The hourly pay range for this position is $18.00/Hr.
