Huckberry Footwear & Accessories Product Developer in Austin, Texas

Huckberry is seeking a talented, ambitious Footwear & Accessories Product Developer to grow and scale our House Brands business. This Product Developer will be responsible for managing the entire product lifecycle across multiple categories. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a strong love for creating best-in-class products.

This role is based out of our headquarters in Austin, TX; relocation support will be provided to a remote hire.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire product creation process from concept to product delivery for House Brands footwear and accessories

  • Work with internal teams and suppliers to ensure critical timelines are met

  • Daily vendor communication

  • Oversee overall sourcing strategy to ensure supplier base is able to hit margin, timing, and quality standards

  • Drive the production and development calendar to ensure milestones are met and deliveries are on track

  • Responsible for all costing negotiations to hit target costs and margins

  • Track and manage sample process with vendors

  • Ensure quality through testing, fit, and QA issues

  • Collaborate with Design to meet all product specifications

  • Work with Merchandising, Design, and Marketing through all aspects of product launches

  • Ensure products meet the needs of the brand strategy

  • Updated PLM system with bill of materials for every style through every stage in the production creation process

  • Sourcing materials and components for footwear and accessories

Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience in product creation (e.g., development, design, production, R&D)

  • Experience working with a PLM system (i.e. Centric)

  • Experience in developing a variety of categories in soft and hard goods (i.e. hats, bags, footwear)

  • Experience working with molded components (i.e. footwear midsole, outsole)

  • Good project management and organizational skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment

  • Knowledge of product design, construction techniques, and appropriate use of materials

  • Illustrator/Photoshop skills required

  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit
