Responsible for administering the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, the Optional Retirement Program and UT System voluntary retirement programs. Prepare monthly accounting closeout journal entries.Analyze Plan Limits Monitoring report monthly to ensure participant contributions to 403(b) and 457(b) accounts do not exceed IRS plan limits for the calendar year. Process adjustments, as needed, to correct excess deferrals. Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, and university policies and procedures. Recommend initiatives and strategies to improve business processes and technical applications. Assist in the design and implementation of new processes and systems.Support payroll processing and reporting for mandatory and voluntary retirement program deductions. Work with the Office of Accounting, Human Resource Services, departments, retirement providers and related areas across the organization to research and resolve payroll issues.Provide customer support to employees, retirees, departments, Human Resource Services and retirement providers.Reconcile retirement accounts to the general ledger balance on a monthly basis, resolve issues, and prepare adjusting journal entries, payroll adjustments and refunds, as required, to ensure financial integrity and accuracy of employee records.Responsible for documenting and updating business processes and procedures. Recommend initiatives and strategies to improve business processes and technical applications. Assist in the design and implementation of new processes.Interpret and ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, Teacher Retirement rules and regulations, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board rules and other university policies and procedures.Other related duties as assigned
