Amazon Finance Manager, OpsTech Solutions in Austin, Texas

Amazon is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Finance Manager to join our dynamic finance team.

We are OpsTech Solution Finance, supporting our OpsTech Solution business partners, a technology centric services organization that designs, builds, and sustains the invisible, high-quality network, compute infrastructure and device scaffolding proudly empowering and protecting Amazon’s global Operations.

We provide fiscal controllership and independent analytical insight in order to guide decision making and support solutions that makes Amazon the most customer and operator centric company in the world. Our Finance team is currently seeking a Finance Manager to support OpsTech Infrastructure Engineering (OTIE) business partners. OTIE provides network and device infrastructure products across Amazon’s 2,487 First, Middle, and Last Mile Operations (Ops) sites. OTIE leverages data, analytics, and automation for a flexible, secure, scalable, low-touch, and cost-efficient network and end-user devices.

They collaborate with executives and various business units across Amazon. This person must thrive in a fast-paced environment and exhibit the highest personal and professional standards of integrity and ethics. Key job responsibilities

  • Drive the financial planning / budgeting process for OP and quarterly cycles

  • Present financial summaries and business insights to senior management as part of Monthly Financial and business review meetings

  • Work with business team to scope entitlements and benefits for the initiatives being planned by the team and track entitlement on a regular cadence for leadership reporting

  • Working in collaboration with Capital Planning team to facilitate capital approvals for the business initiatives

  • Managing and tracking headcount to targets and updating leadership team on variance analysis and business risks

  • Performing ad-hoc analysis and projects to support leadership initiatives

Basic Qualifications

  • BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science)

  • 5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
