Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Job Description

The Facilities Maintenance Tech complies with OSHA, and responds to emergency situations to ensure employee, patient, and facility safety. Candidates will be responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance of the hospital equipment and building components. With little supervision, the candidates will diagnose mechanical problems, offer solutions, and act to ensure the safety, care, and comfort of the staff and patients. Professionalism, appearance, and workmanship are key.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with OSHA regulations.

  • Respond to emergency situations to ensure employee, patient, and facility safety.

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on hospital equipment and building components.

  • Diagnose mechanical problems and offer solutions with minimal supervision.

  • Ensure the safety, care, and comfort of staff and patients.

Essential Skills

  • GED or HS Diploma.

  • Basic computer skills (Office or Word).

  • 3.5+ years of experience in Maintenance Technician or construction field.

  • 1.5+ years of experience in maintenance with plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.

  • Usage of hand tools, power tools, gauges, and electrical testing devices.

  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Direct hospital or large-scale hotel/building maintenance experience.

  • Knowledge of the city of Austin amendments to the code.

  • Degree from Trade School.

  • Veterans - Navy/Army.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $31.00
