SusieCakes is currently seeking to hire a FT Dish Prep/Driver for their operations in the Austin Market! If you are interested in working 35-40+ hours a week supporting with delivering large and heavy amounts of baked goods between locations, then please apply to our link with the application.

Pay: $15-17/HR + tips (est. $2-$3 an hour)

Must be at least 21 years of age to operate the company van.

Hours: 35-40+ per week

Shifts: Will be working 5 days a week, and times could vary. Candidates need to have open availability due to our operations running 7 days a week.

  At SusieCakes, we make old-fashioned, sentimental dessert favorites - just like you may remember from your childhood! Our bakeries are filled with the delicious tastes and sweet smells of cakes, cupcakes, cookies, pies, and bars- all baked from scratch, on-site daily, using the freshest and finest ingredients. Our signature Celebration Cake is a birthday staple on tens of thousands of tables. The delivery driver is responsible for the transport of our baked goods and other food/supply items. They will be driving between multiple SusieCakes bakeries, our commissary kitchen, and any guest locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage & operate dishwashing, keeping the back area clean and organized

• Take pride in daily cleaning i.e. sinks, drains, metro shelves, trash bins, floors, walk-in freezer/refrigerator, grease traps (if applicable)

• Prepare baked goods according to recipes and standard operating procedures including, but not limited to, scooping cookies, cutting bars/cookies, mixing buttercreams, etc.

• Ensure all food is prepared, handled and stored according to all required food safety code standards and maintain a clean and sanitary work environment

• Report any sanitation or janitorial issues to manager on duty

• Operate and properly use bakery equipment according to recipes/standard operating procedures, i.e. mixers, induction burners, dishwasher, etc.

• Monitor cleaning supplies inventory levels

• Operations Management: Manage the delivery calendar activities daily, daily bakery requisitions checklist and adhering to the culinary schedule

• Ensure all food is handled and stored according to all required food safety code standards

• Assist with kitchen food prep & production of baked goods as needed

• Ensure delivery cruiser maintenance & service matters are managed

• Manage expenses for delivery cruiser (i.e., gasoline, tolls, repairs)

• Ensure the delivery cruiser is driven in a professional manner consistent with local vehicle laws

  QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous dishwashing or entry level food handling experience a plus

• Must be able to safely utilize all bakery equipment

• Valid driver-s license required

• Excellent driving record required

• Knowledgeable of GPS navigation systems

• Outstanding customer service focus and skills

• High degree of professionalism

• Must be able to safely utilize all bakery equipment

  PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Frequent walking, kneeling, bending, and reaching overhead

• Able to stand for extended periods of time

• Must be able to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds

  EDUCATION:

• High school diploma or GED
