Job/Position DescriptionPerforms highly advanced (senior-level) managerial work providing direction and guidance in strategic operations and planning. Under the direction of the Deputy Commissioner of Programs this position directs program activities and/or business function within the Office of Child Safety, including providing oversight and strategic direction related to the Departmentand#146;s Child Safety Specialists and analysts. The Director IV position directs child safety reviews, monitors child safety trends, directs research and evaluation activities, oversees the provision of technical assistance and statistical/research reports, data analysis and data collection work designed to promote and exemplify the mission and vision of the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Programs. The position oversees staff that (1) conduct child safety reviews in collaboration with CPS and CPI staff and (2) gather, organize, and analyze data that demonstrates the progress of the Officeand#146;s assessment, reviews and initiatives, determines data requirements, designs data collection tools, constructs databases, conducts statistical analysis of said data and publishes reports containing descriptive verbiage, graphs, tables and/or charts in a professional format for Division leadership, legislators, and the general public. Work involves developing goals and objectives consistent with the DFPS Strategic Plan; developing policies, procedures, and guidelines; establishing priorities, standards, and measurement tools for determining progress in meeting goals; coordinating and evaluating program activities or business functions; and reviewing and approving budgets within departments or divisions. Supervises the work of others.
