TEXAS WORKFORCE COMMISSION Data Analyst (Telework) in Austin, Texas

Who You Are: The ideal candidate needs to be detail-oriented, able to communicate effectively, work independently, and work closely with team members. This position is eligible for telecommuting but may require team members to come into the office for scheduled meetings and unscheduled requests. The ideal candidate must have a secure, dedicated workspace with Internet service, ability to maintain a reliable consistent work schedule, and be available for weekly meetings and group collaboration via Microsoft Teams and other applications during regular business hours.

What You Will Do: The Data Analyst II performs routine (journey-level) data analysis and data research work. Work involves conducting detailed analysis of and extensive research on data and providing results. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

You Will Be Trusted To: -Compile data monthly for performance reporting dashboards. -Review and interpret results of data queries to identify trends, patterns, and to assess quality. -Compile and analyze data, prepare routine and ad hoc queries, create graphic representations of data, and maintain data accuracy and confidentiality. -Successfully handle multiple projects with the ability to prioritize. -Effectively communicate with your team and other TWC staff through written and verbal communication skills. -May assist in developing data quality measures and implementing necessary changes to ensure data quality improvement. -May assist with planning and or execution of operational and special reports, administrative projects, or assignments.

You Qualify With: High school diploma or equivalent plus one year of full-time experience in data analysis, research, compilation, and/or reporting work. -Each year (30 semester hours) of coursework in data science, business analytics, computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, accounting, finance, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field may be substituted for one year of full-time experience in data analysis, research, compilation, and/or reporting work.

You Are a Great Fit With: -Ability to gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts to devise solutions to problems. -Experience and competence in Microsoft Office programs; moderate to advanced Excel, Power Query, and Power BI skills strongly preferred. -Experience with SQL, relational databases, and data warehousing. -Experience running queries, reviewing data, and conducting data searches. -Ability to compile and analyze data, prepare reports, maintain accuracy and confidentiality, and attention to detail. -Skill in successfully handling multiple projects with the ability to prioritize. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Work Schedule is full-time, Monday to Friday ith some flexibility in hours.This position requires up to 5% travel and the ability to lift up to 10 pounds of work-related equipment.
