AT&T Hotel & Conference Center Concierge (Full-Time) in Austin, Texas

Principle Responsibilities & Position Purpose:
To provide assistance and services to guests in order to ensure that their arrival, departure and in-house experience is pleasurable and informative.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide information on hotel’s dining facilities and make reservations.
Offer suggestions and make reservations for guests at other restaurants.
Will be fully knowledgeable about local restaurants, their offerings, price ranges, etc., and be able to direct guests to those restaurants.
Able to give directions
Arrange for tickets to sporting events or theatre performances
Obtain information on flight schedules and make or confirm airline reservations
When guests require additional information not readily available, will make calls and inquiries to locate needed information.
Will be responsible for guest credit card information and scheduling for guests
Offer engaging service as appropriate for the guest – directions, map transport, dining, contacts, etc.
Provide information about outside stores, parks, sports and recreational facilities, etc.
Inform guests about all forms of ground transportation and make arrangements
Will report all complaints about hotel services and facilities immediately and in accordance with hotel policy and follow through to ensure they have been resolved
Knowledgeable about all hotel amenities
Assist guests with luggage retrieval and storage
Coordinate luggage delivery and holding for queued guests with Guest Services team
Develop and maintain contacts and professional working relationships with the community, hospitality & service partners in the area
Maintain communication of up to date, accurate information between guests, staff, management and our hotel partners on a daily basis
Liaise with all departments to ensure a seamless guest experience
Participate in monthly departmental communication and educational meetings
To be conversant with all hotel promotional programs (guest related)
Ensure cleanliness of concierge desk
Answer phones following Hotel’s telephone etiquette standards
Welcomes and assists guests’ according to PLATNIUM SERVICE Standards.
Providing an excellent first impression to guests
Greets all guests courteously, using the guest’s name whenever possible.
Demonstrates PLATNIUM SERVICE Standards in all interactions.
Remains observant and responds to each guest who passes through lobby.
Follows Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
Reports suspicious people, behavior, and vehicles to Security
Ensures adherence to Code of Ethics
OTHER DUTIES
Assimilate into The AT&T Executive Education & Conference Center Family, the PLATINUM SERVICE culture through understanding, supporting and participating in all elements of PLATINUM SERVICE. Demonstrate working knowledge of the service standards.
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Flik from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to arrive to work on time and when scheduled.
Ability to stand on feet up to 8 hours a day and work in a fast-paced environment
Must possess outstanding guest services skills, professional presentation and sophisticated communication skills
Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, ever-changing environment.
Must be flexible in terms of working hours.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent vocational school
Previous Hotel Concierge experience an asset
Strong knowledge of the city and culture an asset
Interest or membership in Les Clef’s d’Or highly encouraged
Must possess a professional presentation
Must possess outstanding guest services skills, sophisticated verbal & written communication skills
Computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications required
Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
Highly responsible & reliable
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
EXPERIENCE LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
Driver’s License required. (I have questions regarding how stringent we are on this for this position)
GROOMING
All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).
OTHER
Proficient in the English language (verbal & written), second language is an asset.
