Clickhereto see an inside look at the Texas Comptrollers office General description The Unclaimed Property Division of the Texas Comptroller's Office is responsible for returning unclaimed personal property to it's rightful owners.The Unclaimed Property Division will be participating in the Returnship Program which will reintroduce on-the-job training skills to individuals who have been away from the workforce for two years or longer and are looking to re-enter the workforce.The individual in this position would learn about unclaimed property in general and the unclaimed property system architecture in particular.We are looking for an experienced individual to help ensure system enhancements and upgrades are thoroughly tested before being implemented and can respond to ad hoc reporting challenges of the future. This position may be eligible for a flexible/hybrid work schedule if certain conditions are met; working arrangements may change at any time as business necessitates.This is a temporary/full-time position. Qualifications: Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelors degree. Preferred Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree in Accounting or Business administration. Experience: Two years (2) of work experience reviewing accounts, examining or processing claims. Preferred Experience: One years experience researching the history of stocks, bonds or mutual funds Experience developing test scenarios for system user acceptance testing. Experience processing unclaimed property requests. Experience performing quality assurance reviews. Substitution: One additional year full-time work experience reviewing accounts, examining or processing claims may substitute for thirty semester hours of the required education, with a maximum substitution of 120 semester hours (4 years). In this role you will: Monitors, reviews and addresses stock and securities imbalances with the custodian system and the unclaimed property system. Researches history of stock held by UP and updates its history in order to address discrepancies with custodian. Submits system correction and enhancement tickets for the vendor supported system and tracks their status. Identifies opportunities for process improvements in the division and creates action plans to implement those improvements. Performs system testing in accordance with established test scenarios.
