Job/Position DescriptionClerk IIIThis is a temporary position from September 2, 2024, to December 31, 2024.The fall intern position is open to college students who are interested in learning about state government administration, practices and procedures, while gaining valuable experience working for the State of Texas. This position provides support to the Procurement and Contracting Services (PCS) Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Program. The fall intern position completes assignments including, but not limited to, preparing HUB reports and dashboards. Other duties may also be assigned.Essential Job FunctionsAttends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.Prepares reports and dashboards for review by HUB Program management; these reports may be distributed to internal and external stakeholders, including members of the Texas Legislature and their staff.Analyzes and provides input to the modification of existing HUB reports developed and generated by the agency programming staff.Maintains confidential records, files, and/or logs.Communicates on a basic level with others to provide, exchange, or verify information.May perform research and data analysis.Performs other duties as assigned.Registrations, Licensure Requirements or Certificationsn/aKnowledge Skills AbilitiesKnowledge of office procedures.Knowledge of computers and standard office software applications.Skill in the operation of computers and general office equipment, especially Microsoft Word and Excel.Ability to analyze and present data and information.Ability to read, comprehend, and apply instructions.Ability to maintain confidentiality.Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writingInitial Screening CriteriaMust have experience using email and other office software applications, such as Microsoft Office products. Experience working with HUB reports is preferred.Experience working with or for a member of the Texas Legislature is preferred.
