Provide short-term individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and case management, to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in a specific school or college at UT Austin.Conduct initial assessments of students' presenting concerns. Conduct short-term counseling with students referred for service.Maintain timely, accurate, and complete documentation of all service contacts as required by center policies and procedures.Develop and implement a good blend of programmatic interventions which address the psycho-social mental health needs of students in the designated population or issue.Identify group assignment preferences and propose/develop new groups, as appropriate.Initiate advertising/recruitment and screening for group.Facilitate groups in accordance with service agreement.Demonstrate knowledge about group counseling and/or seek appropriate training.Reviews client record to determine the progress, effectiveness, and appropriateness of treatment services offered. Maintains current, accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with state and federal law, professional ethics, and Counseling and Mental Health Center, CMHC, policies. Coordinates referrals between CMHC and university or community service providers.Provide clinical consultation to others on an as-needed basis and seeks consultation when appropriate. Provide urgent care services as necessary to students.Works collaboratively and cooperatively with other mental health professionals on CMHC's multidisciplinary staff and other university departments and organizationsDevelops linkages with key contacts of the designated population for the purpose of developing and implementing programmatic interventions which generate substantial participation by studentsProvide outreach and support to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in a specific school or college at UT Austin and campus partners.Develop and provide workshops on mental health concerns for students, faculty and staff within identified college, school or unitProvide outreach to faculty/staff related to student mental healthProvides individual consultative support to faculty/staff on student mental health concernsOther required activitiesAttend and participate in departmental and division meetings and staff development programs as assigned.Participates in the prevention and outreach team meetings by contributing new ideas, engaging in problem solving and seeking better ways to impact the mental health needs of students.Comply with all CMHC and UT policies, procedures, and guidelines.May provide clinical training and supervision to social work and psychology interns, as well as pre-doctoral psychology practicum students.Provides individual supervision of interns, practicum students, or psychiatric residents.Provides individual supervision of group co-leaders.Supervises interns' supervision of practicum students.Co-leads training seminars.Offers and supervises preceptorships and apprenticeships for interns.Participates on training-related committees.Participates in training activities during the orientation period.Timely signature on clinical documentation and communication with supervisor of relevant issues.May be assigned other relevant duties as applicableLicense RequirementProfessional Counselor:Licensed to practice independently as a professional counselor in TexasLPC-A will not be consideredIf licensed in another state, must be able to obtain license to practice independently in Texas within one yearClinical Social Work:Licensed to practice independently as a Clinical Social Worker in TexasLMSW will not be consideredIf licensed in another state, must be able to obtain license to practice independently in Texas within one yearPsychology:Licensed to practice independently as a Psychologist in TexasOr if licensed in another state, must be able to obtain license to practice independently in Texas within one year?Educational RequirementsProfessional Counseling:Masters Degree in Cou seling, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Social Work or other degree which meets eligibility requirement in Texas for licensure; and licensed as a Professional Counselor or the equivalent from another state; must be able to obtain licensure in Texas within one year if licensed in another state. LPCi will not be considered.Two years post masters clinical experience in college or university counseling center or other relevant clinical setting.Clinical Social Work:Masters Degree in Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Social Work or other degree which meets eligibility requirement in Texas for licensure; and licensed as a Clinical Social Worker or the equivalent from another state; must be able to obtain licensure in Texas within one year if licensed in another state.Two years post masters clinical experience in college or university counseling center or other relevant clinical setting.Psychology:Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology or other degree acceptable to the Texas Board of Examiners of Psychology. Licensed as a Psychologist or the equivalent from another state; must be able to obtain licensure in Texas within one year if licensed in another state.One year, full-time equivalent, post-doctoral clinical experience in college or university counseling center or other relevant clinical setting.
