Responsibilities

We are looking for a summer intern in 2025 to join our enthusiastic, collaborative broadcast applications engineering team. Our team is focused on helping customers design in tuners and demodulators for worldwide transmissions of radio signals for analog AM/FM and digital HD/DAB/DRM standards. We also integrate for customers Audio DSP subsystems to process voice, music, and other audio-related operations. We work closely with worldwide customers and various internal teams such as marketing, systems/design, quality, and test to ensure our products are well understood and designed successfully. We are committed to doing the right thing and passionate about helping our customers solve timing problems by understanding their use cases and end applications. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with exceptional communication skills who are comfortable explaining technical concepts to a wide range of audiences to help the team achieve our internal metrics and goals while having a positive impact on the business. Engineers in this position will become familiar with Automotive testing standards, broadband PCB signal integrity for mixed-signal designs and general analog and digital circuit analysis in time/frequency domains, along with extensive experience in operating lab instruments including oscilloscopes, spectrum and phase noise analyzers.

Key Areas of Contributions in this Role:

  • Design, debug, and document demonstration/evaluation boards.

  • Validate technical details of specific use case scenarios.

  • Debug, test, document and share results of enhanced product features.

Preferred Education, Experience & Capabilities

  • Working toward undergraduate or master’s degree in electrical, computer, or systems design engineering.

  • Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals and methodologies, logical thinking.

  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills. 

  • Coursework in control systems, signals and systems, analog circuits.

  • System analysis skills, and ability to see the bigger picture. 

  • Excellent ability to ask the right questions to troubleshoot and debug systems, circuits, and devices. 

  • Meticulous technical documentation authoring and editing skills. 

  • Knowledge of software programming tools (Visual Studio, Python or other scripting languages).

  • Must be comfortable working on challenging problems while being capable of prioritizing and organizing tasks.

  • Driven to meet deadlines while held accountable to high-quality standards.

  • Positive attitude with strong desire for customer and team success to maintain our winning culture.

    The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
