Job Summary and Qualifications
The Athletic Trainer fellow will work and learn as part of the high performance department who will coordinate and administer a comprehensive athletic training program for a Major League Soccer franchise. You will be based in Austin, TX and work in-person at the St. David’s Performance Center.
You will provide athletic training services for Austin FC Academy teams, including attendance at scheduled team practices and competitions
You will assist Austin FC II, Austin FC’s Next Pro Team as necessary
You will provide daily operations, maintenance, and upkeep of the athletic training room, recovery room, and hydrotherapy room
You will perform inventory, ordering, and restocking of clinical and clerical supplies
You will assist full-time Athletic Trainers administering all pre-practice/came athletic requirements including hydration, taping, therapeutic modalities, rehabilitation, and facility maintenance
You will assist and aid in therapy and treatment of all injured athletes
You will assist full-time Athletic Trainers in administering of acute injury and first response post-injury
You will assist full-time Athletic Trainer in managing all record keeping and documentation
Job Requirements
Education
- Master of Science degree program in Athletic Training accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training (CAATE)
Experience
Minimum 2 years of working experience as a certified Athletic Trainer
Athletic training in soccer – preferred
Licenses and Certifications
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Certified by the Board of Certification (BOC) for the Athletic Trainer
State Athletic Training Licensure
