IQVIA Associate Manager, Laboratory Operations in Austin, Texas

We are seeking an Associate Manager, Laboratory Operations to join Q² Solutions, IQVIA’s laboratory business in Austin, TX .

You will be responsible for supervising a team of laboratory staff and assisting with the administration of laboratory testing in accordance with applicable regulations governing clinical laboratories.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supervising a team of lab staff and ensuring effective operational delivery.

  • Setting day-to-day operational activities for the team with a focus on daily delivery.

  • Hiring, training, and managing the performance of staff under the mentorship of management.

  • Screening and assigning workload, planning, prioritizing, and assigning tasks and projects.

  • Monitoring inventory of reagents and supplies to ensure adequate levels for deliverables and ensuring spending is within the approved budget.

  • Ensuring team activities meet safety guidelines and driving individual accountability for safety.

  • Reviewing laboratory metrics to identify initiatives and establishing additional metrics such as cost savings associated with process improvement initiatives.

  • Partnering with stakeholders on process improvement initiatives to present projects and ensure goals are met.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Some CAP/CLIA lab locations may require a BSc in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, medical laboratory technology, or cytotechnology).

  • Typically requires >5 years in a regulated environment.

  • 4 years of experience in a relevant discipline laboratory.

  • Demonstrated ability to train and mentor others, as well as navigate challenges in operational and people matters.

  • Other equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities needed for this role:

  • Strong understanding of specific area of responsibility, operations, and methods.

  • In-depth knowledge of testing procedures and applicable laboratory testing regulations.

  • Working knowledge of quality assurance and quality control principles and company-specific program requirements.

  • Good written and oral communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $70,700.00 - $117,800.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
