Cesar Chavez Foundation Assistant Property Manager in Austin, Texas

Summary

Assists manager of residential real estate property by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. In absence of Property Manager performs the following duties and regularly assists property manager with performance of these functions as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepares lease or rental agreements and collects specified rents and impounds.

  • Handles electronic and manual bookkeeping functions, or credits renter account for receipts and debits account for disbursements such as upkeep and maintenance costs for assigned property

  • Arranges for alterations to, or maintenance, upkeep, or reconditioning of property as appropriate.

    Manages daily operations, site staff and vendors.

  • Purchases supplies and equipment for use on property.

  • Requests issuance of check for monies due residents.

  • Prepares periodic inventory of building contents and property condition, and forwards listing to supervisor for review.

  • Prepares vacancy, occupancy, traffic, reports and turnover schedules, etc. for internal use and external agency compliance.

  • Contacts utility companies to arrange for transfer of service for tenants.

  • Coordinates moving, inspections, dealing with tenant issues and related items.

  • Inspects site, grounds, vacant units, etc. on a daily basis.

  • Assists with eviction of tenants in compliance with court order and directions from supervisor.

  • Responds to emergency calls and situations as required.

  • Travels frequently to outlying facilities in the performance of regular duties.

  • Communicates and interacts with residents individually or in groups as required.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    In absence of manager, directly supervises two to four employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Education and/or Experience

    One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Wage

    $28-$30 per hour DOE
