Inspects and certifies elevator equipment, platform lifts, and escalators for safe operating conditions, proper installations, and the need for future modifications that are applicable within federal, state, and local codes and regulations.Documents all findings and advises management or service coordinator on the recommended actions and solutions. Files the records and reports with the appropriate government agency. Provides follow up verification for repair and maintenance work that has been performed. Investigates accidents and incidents. Responsible for reporting to appropriate government agency.Witnesses and certifies acceptance inspections and tests on all newly constructed and renovated elevators to the applicable codes. Maintains a database for elevator equipment, platform lifts, and escalators. Assists in developing and implementing a preventative maintenance program for elevators and auxiliary equipment.Assists in budget projections. Performs on-site maintenance audits. Interprets and evaluates data from remote monitoring systems, callout logs and manages service providers response to ensure prompt resolution of issues. Reviews and evaluates elevator equipment performance history. Attends meetings with vendors to evaluate elevator equipment. Attends all meetings and/or certification seminars to maintain credentials as an American Society of Mechanical Engineers Qualified Elevator Inspector (ASME QEI-1 certification) and Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) state Elevator Inspector License. Drives UT vehicle.Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions of the trade. Ability to read architectural and installation drawings, including hoist ways and machine layouts and details as specified in ASME-QEI-1. Responds to emergency situations which arise on elevator equipment.Manages parts inventory. Analyzes data form call out logs, after-hours, elevator performance history and proposes necessary process improvements and corrective actions. Participates in defining scope and developing specifications for new construction and modernization projects.
