Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.

  • Knowledge of general accepted accounting principles, budgetary practices and processes, and financial reporting.

  • High level of problem solving ability

  • Proficient in QuickBooks accounting, Excel skills to review and formulate financial reports, Windows PC and skilled in the use of Microsoft Office software including Word, and Outlook.

  • Demonstrated critical thinker with excellent organizational skills.

  • Ability to learn quickly in a fast paced environment, work independently as well as in a team environment.

  • Ability to prioritize competing projects and consistently meet deadlines; strong attention to detail and time management skills.

  • Ability to extract and work with large data sets, create intermediate to complex spreadsheets.

  • Provide consistent accurate information regarding the management of the financial condition of the program

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent customer service with both internal and external constituents

  • Occasional travel to meetings or conferences

  • Ability to develop grants and proposals, manage financial variance to budget and report to grantor.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, business or closely related field.

  • Specific experience with an accounting database such as SAP .

  • Grant funded program accounting.

Job Description

Responsible for the performance of financial accounting activities to ensure compliance with GAAP , grant conditions, federal & state rules and regulations; establish budgetary and forecast projections, monitor daily financial activities, identify budget variance and report monthly financial income and expense report to management.

Job Duties

  • Prepare financial reports/forecast projections for management; Budget and Oversight committee and grantors.

  • Develop and prepare financial budget for operating accounts.

  • Reconcile and generate monthly reports.

  • Manage financial activity and create income/expense worksheets.

  • Reconcile hotel master folio to program certified list & bid contract, create spreadsheet to list variances and changes, prepare recap worksheet and payment approval. Determine funding source based on contractual grant conditions.

  • Prepare and validate travel reimbursement requests, make copies, distribute for approval, email to appropriate department for payment processing, record transaction to associated funding account.

  • Prepare purchase requisition and supporting documentation. Check for completeness.

  • Reconcile end of fiscal year close-out on grants and private accounts. Ensuring accurate and timely reporting according to grant conditions.

  • Perform periodic audit reports.

  • Provide or attend Board and/or Planning Committee Meetings.

  • Communicate with Vendors, AR external customers; various University departments.

  • Perform other duties necessary for the effective operation of the Training Center as directed by the Executive Director or Associate Director.
