The opportunity
This is an exciting time to join the Global Risk Management Data team as we continue the design and implementation a QA function to manage risks and controls related to Data Protection at the client account level. You will build your professional knowledge and credentials, learn how EY operates globally and work with cross functional stakeholders to develop and deploy a program fit for major client accounts.
The Manager within the Account Data Protection Risk team will focus on developing the framework for testing Data Protection controls for engagements at client accounts and driving operational implementation across pilot accounts. This will include development of a test plan for independent control testing for each account and coordination with the GDS team on delivery of the control testing for each account. In this capacity, the manager will leverage EY’s global data protection framework and knowledge and industry expertise to enhance develop processes, support monitoring and reporting requirements, develop learning materials and more for the governance and data life cycle management of EY’s personal and confidential data on the account.
You will be expected to lead, manage, and participate in activities that support a cohesive and balanced approach across Global Risk Management Data Protection and the client accounts.
You will be required to consult and collaborate effectively across key data protection stakeholders (e.g., Account Team, Services Lines, Information Security, EY Technology, Legal, RIM) to drive the design and implementation of the program across the global client account and by extension, member firms and related geographies.
Your key responsibilities
Enable refinement of the QA framework to support scalable workflow and a cross-account coverage model
Ability to evaluate and prioritize testing/monitoring and reporting activities
Ability to identify trends from QA analysis to inform potential areas for improvement internal and external to the function (e.g., Opportunities for SL Quality, Business Leads, Account Leadership)
Ability to identify items for remediation and outline required approach in line with policy and requirements
Data and risk driven approach to key decision making
Communicate and justify key decisions to stakeholders inside and outside the client accounts
To qualify for the role you must have
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, data science, or in a related field.
IAPP certifications (either CIPP/E, CIPP/US and/or CIPM)
Proven record in managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its life cycle
Experience with risk management and/or compliance
Familiarity with engagement lifecycle across core service lines (Audit, Consulting, Tax, and Strategy/Transactions) preferred
Expert in cross-functional influence, coordination, ways of working
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Outstanding analytical review and reporting skills
Outstanding leadership and motivation skills
Excellent people skills, including the ability to work across the organization and interact/influence/negotiate effectively
Critical thinker with excellent judgment and strong initiative
Ideally, you’ll also have
- A master’s degree or MBA

The compensation ranges below are provided in order to comply with United States pay transparency laws. Other geographies will follow their local salary guidelines, which may not be a direct conversion of published US salary ranges. We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $111,100 to $207,800. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $133,300 to $236,100. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
