Oversight of Advising Unit- Coordinate an advising unit and program including hiring, supervision, and performance management of undergraduate office and graduate office full-time staff. Responsible for program development and implementation, external communications, and accountability for meeting program objectives. Implement and manage academic advising programs, explore new models for effective delivery of academic advising, and manage more complex advising activities. Administration and oversight of department-level undergraduate research awards, scholarships, and cash prizes including coordination of the nomination and selection process.Course and Curriculum Management Oversight of all phases of course scheduling, catalog updates, and course management. Prepare, collect, and disseminate academic information, oversee course instructor survey ordering and results management, final exam updates, textbook orders, grade submissions, process updates and audits in FaSET and submit approved catalog updates.Data Requests,Analysis, and Program Assessment- Provide statistics for standard reports and ad hoc information requests for program analysis. Monitor graduation rates and timelines and provide department leadership with student program data when needed. Oversee required accreditation and program assessment reports, including but not limited to: TracDat, American Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), 18 Characteristics, and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Boards (THECB) External Review.Manage Undergraduate Academic Support Programs In conjunction with the Undergraduate Advisor, coordinate the McKetta Tutors and Graders program including recruiting new graders and tutors, recommending student assignments, and addressing performance concerns. Manage all aspects of the McKetta Peer Advisors program, including recruiting new students, training Peer Advisors, submitting appointment details to the departments HR Coordinator, and addressing performance issues. Provide course management for CHE 102 and programming to enhance ChE student life skills and career development.Student Support Assists students individually with academic concerns, questions, registration issues, and connects students to available University resources.Faculty Support Assist faculty members with various academic and administrative concerns and questions including but not limited to: grade changes, student issues, allegations of scholastic dishonesty, scholarship nominations, Q-drops, etc. Coordination of faculty advising including appointment sign up, hosting informational sessions for faculty advising, maintain faculty advising Canvas page, and providing training to new faculty advisors.Admissions and Outreach Interact with various academic outreach functions, including but not limited to: New Student Orientation, Commencement, UT Girl Day, Parents Weekend and their related activities. Serve on committees Cockrell School Recruiting and campus-wide Admissions and Registration.Other related functions as assigned.
