Job Overview

The Volunteer Coordinator supports and coordinates daily operations of the volunteer program on a campus to system wide scale.The Coordinator assists the volunteer leadership team to develop, implement, and manage programs, projects, and initiatives for the department/division.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Two years of experience coordinating and supporting programs. Equivalency: An Associate or higher degree, in a related field, may substitute for the experience requirements on a year for year basis This position may require a BLS certification from the American Heart Association. Responsibilities

POPULATION SPECIFIC CARE No direct patient care. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Organize and participate (as requested) in the volunteer interview process with the goal of identifying qualified volunteers and ensuring the best use of their talents while addressing the needs of the hospital, patients, families, and staff. Proficient in all volunteer roles to provide general hospital support and when appropriate, assignment specific training for volunteers Provides support to the volunteers during their assigned shifts by helping to secure coverage for absent volunteers and substitute for volunteers when needed. Utilizes the volunteer database to update volunteer data, pull applications, enter assignments and pull reports. Responsible for welcoming, orienting and supervising volunteers during community special events. Provides support for special events by promoting the event and arranging volunteers' schedules Ensures documentation and accurate record keeping with regard to privacy pledges, orientation check lists, and photo eleases. Provides a high level of customer service support and assistance to donors Performs accurate donor record keeping functions, including distributing and storing in-kind donations and donations are forwarded through the respective teams
