Job Summary:

  • Acute and chronic outpatient care of Neuro-Oncology patients including administration of chemotherapy and immunotherapy, disease-modifying therapy, and health maintenance care.

  • Monitor patients for adverse events related to therapeutics.

  • Inpatient consultations for acute or chronic Neuro-Oncology patients in the University of Colorado Hospital with attendant documentation for these consults.

  • Incumbent is expected to be proficient in lumbar punctures and Ommaya punctures with instillation of chemotherapy.

  • Participation in clinical trials with expectation of completing and maintaining research trainings.

  • Supervise medical students, residents, and fellows in clinics and in the hospital setting.

  • Provide supervision and training for advanced practice providers.

  • Attend neurology lectures and teaching conferences.

  • Train medical students, residents, and fellows.

  • Support, share, and engage in continual learning and development among nursing staff, other faculty and advanced practice providers, pharmacy staff, medical students, and neurology residents and fellows.

  • Periodic presentation of lectures to patients and others regarding neurological conditions and treatments.

  • Serve as first contact for clinician level patient communications.

  • Data entry into hospital systems, committee work, and projects aimed at improving the specialty and department mission.

  • Attendance at meetings and educational events of the department and specialty programs is expected.

  • Ongoing CME is required.

The position is full time faculty, with the opportunity for academic promotion, which is determined on criteria of demonstrated excellence in the areas of education, research, clinical care, and community service. The Neuro-Oncology program at the University of Colorado is the regional tertiary referral base for the Rocky Mountain Region, serving a six-state region of Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.
