Job Overview

The Medical Technologist I POC, supports Point of Care testing for the Anschutz campus and Network of Care sites. Sometimes, instead of coming to our lab for testing, the lab comes to you. Point-of-care (POC) testing refers to the tests that your child's care team conducts at their bedside - at the point of care. And when team members perform POC testing, parents can rest easy knowing that every nurse, provider and clinical care team member meets or exceeds our standards for quality and patient safety. Our laboratory testing plays a key role in the detection, diagnosis and treatment of pediatric, adult and prenatal conditions. With state-of-the-art laboratory services, facilities and technologies, we support and guide quality patient care across the pediatric spectrum. Our labs offer a wide range of high-quality lab screenings and diagnostic tests with rapid turnaround times, as well as an unmatched scope and capabilities, including diagnostic tests that aren't available anywhere else in the country. Additional Information

Department: Point of Care Testing Hours per week: 40, eligible for benefits Shift: Monday- Friday, 0800-1830. 4-10's with one day off during the week. This position requires rotating on call for weekends/holidays, days and hours may vary based on department need. *This position is based out of Anschutz campus, but travel to other CHCO locations is required.

Qualifications

EDUCATION - Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institutio EQUIVALENCY - Meeting one of the other requirements set by the ASCP Board of Certification may be accepted in lieu of degree. CERTIFICATION(S) - Medical Technologist/Scientist Certification ASCP or equivalent or certification required within 6 months of eligibility. Previous core laboratory experien e is preferred. The ideal applicant would have excellent customer service and communication skills. Previous experience with Microsoft Office is preferred.
