Job Overview

This position is responsible for standard level work in systems analysis, design and applications programming for single and multiple information systems, software applications, architectures, data warehouses, databases, and data extraction and reporting. Duties include designing, planning, testing, implementing, maintenance, problem solving, documenting, and developing software code, standards, principles and practices. Specifically, this Engineer will facilitate the validation and implementation of predictive models into the electronic medical record. This includes translating models developed in other languages to python, and using various tools such as Slate. This position will also set up the data pipelines for model consumption and Machine Learning operations to monitor models. This will require understanding of data models, data pipelines, SQL programming, software development lifecycle. This position is expect to have a high level of autonomy, in addition to collaborating with internal staff and customers (technical and clinical) and external collaborators (technical and clinical). This position interfaces frequently with analysts and staff to develop database scripts against disparate data sources, and has opportunities to publish work in collaboration with colleagues. This position is a critical resource in developing and applying research informatics and engineering techniques to obtain, validate, standardize, and manage scientific and clinical concepts, data and models.

Additional Information

Department: CCHRI-Research Informatics Hours per week: 40, eligible for benefits Shift: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm. Work hours may vary depending on the needs of the department.

Qualifications

EDUCATION - Bachelor's degree is required. BS or MS in Computer Science is preferred. EXPERIENCE - Minimum of three (3) years of related experience is required. EQUIVALENCY - Combination of post-high school education, job related certification and/or related experience equivalent to seven (7) years may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements. Preference given to those applicants who have proficiency in Slate, Docker, Jupyter Notebook and Python.
