Job Overview

The Athletic Trainer Resident is an entry-level athletic training position with clinical program development and educational responsibilities within the Children's Hospital Colorado. This position will have a primary responsibility of supporting the physicians and staff with patient care in the Sports Medicine Center and Orthopedics Institute in compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations).

Department Name: Sports Medicine Job Status: 1.0 FTE/40 hours per week -- eligible for benefits Shift: Position is for a 16 month term; Monday - Friday between normal business hours with minimal nights and weekends. *Applications will be reviewed through the end of August, and selected candidates will be contacted shortly thereafter to schedule interviews.

Qualifications

Education: Masters Degree in Athletic Training or a related field is required. Certification(s): Certified as an Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers and Basic Life Support (BLS) Licensure(s): State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) Licenses for Athletic Trainer; Valid Colorado Driver's License.

Performs a physical examination of patient following the collection and documentation of the patient's medical history and briefs the attending physician The performance of concise and relevant presentations to the attending physician.

Orders diagnostic studies or other referrals under the direction of the atte ding physician.
