MaineGeneral Health Speech Therapist (SLP) - Outpatient, Part-time in Augusta, Maine

Job Summary: Evaluates and treats patient populations for speech-language therapy needs within an assigned area.

We are seeking a Speech Therapist to evaluate and treat patient populations for speech-language therapy needs primarily in an outpatient setting alongside a dedicated team of Occupational Therapists (OTs) and Physical Therapists (PTs). The Role: Speech Language TherapistHours: 24-32 hours per week

The Work:- Assesses patients' ability to safely and effectively perform speech/language skills.- Designs the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.- Implements the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.- Documents subjective, objective, assessment findings and plan, and patient progress.- Educates and counsels patients and their families/caregivers.- Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment setting.- Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.- Supervises activities of clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel.

Qualifications:

Licensure: Must hold a current Maine State Speech-Language Pathologist license.Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred within one year of hire.Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS Healthcare Provider certification preferred.Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Must demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to various patient needs and treatment plans.Experience: Previous experience in an outpatient setting is preferred but not required.
