Carrington Loan Processor, Retail, Team Lead in Augusta, Maine

Our Loan Processor, Team Lead is responsible for providing quality loan processing, reviewing files for adherence to underwriting standards and ensuring completeness of submission. Coaches and mentors lower level processors and assists processors with handling exception items; assists processing management with pipeline management functions. Perform all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, all US state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates. The Team Lead level is the highest level of Loan Processor and the duties include processing a pipeline of loans, assisting lower level processing staff, and assisting processing management with day-to-day pipeline management. The target pay range is $21.63/hr. - $28.85/hr.

What you'll do:

  • Coaches and mentors lower level processing staff; may train new employees in day to day loan processing techniques.

  • Assists processing management in monitoring pipeline activities and statuses; advises management of any findings.

  • Assists lower level processors with unique or exception items.

  • Obtains necessary information (i.e., loan applications, credit documents, appraisals, etc.) to process and complete mortgage loan files.

  • Ensures the quality and compliance of work with Company policies, procedures, and investor guidelines.

  • Ensures that all loans are processed to meet Company and Investor guidelines

  • Constant communication with all external parties to the loan including but not limited to Borrower, Realtor, Closing Agent, and Appraisal Management Company.

  • Communicates with Regional Vice President, Loan Officers, Operations Manager, Disclosure Department, Underwriting Department, Docs/Funding Department, and Branch Manager as required to resolve outstanding issues

  • Communicates with escrow officer/settlement agent, title officer as required to resolved outstanding issues.

  • Assists Post Closing Department as needed with making the loan whole for purchase into secondary market.

  • Reviews and evaluates credit information on mortgage loan documents to determine acceptability for loan programs

  • Receives and reviews loan submissions

What you'll need:

  • Maintains highly confidential information in accordance with Company’s privacy policy concerning borrower’s information (concerning borrower’s confidential information)

  • Requires extremely high level of organizational skills and ability to work on several tasks simultaneously

  • Constant contact with borrower and internal office staff

  • Strong skill in the routine use of office machines such as computer, copiers, fax machines

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to handle detailed assignments
