Applied Research Solutions is seeking a full-time Developer located at Ft Gordon, Augusta, GA. The Developer’s primary function will be to participate in the full application development lifecycle focused on Java micro-service-based applications while supporting GETS.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develops software components that require knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming and related technologies. Code, test, and debug existing programs and programs in development. Assist in preparing documentation of software design. Participate in knowledge sharing activities with colleagues. Work closely with other developers from the beginning of a product life-cycle to its release.

  • Consult with users to define their business requirements or problem areas and uses technical expertise to provide solutions

  • Support requirement analysis, software development, and software integration

  • Evaluate and integrate Government and Commercial off-the shelf (GOTS/COTS) applications to satisfy user requirements

  • Follow formal development methodologies adhering to design specification, design techniques, standards, and established development guidelines

  • Develop and maintain software technical documentation to assist in application maintenance and deployment

  • Test software components for adherence to the user requirements

  • Assist with the preparation of user and administrator documentation

  • Adhere and support AGILE process-based development

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:

  • Must have BA/BS in related field

  • Must possess 6+ years of development experience with any object-oriented programming language (Java, C#, C++)

  • Must possess active TS/SCI clearance

  • Must possess current 8570 IAT Level II Certification such as Security+ CE

  • Demonstrated working experience building web applications using, JavaScript, HTML/HTML5, CSS3

  • Experience working with web application development in a Linux environment

  • Experience developing micro-services within a Linux environment; highly desired

  • Demonstrated working experience using Maven, GIT, and Nexus; highly desired

  • Experience working in AWS including S3, EC2, RDS; highly desired

  • Experience with any of the following: Apache HTTPd, CSS, MySQL, Postgresql/postgis, XSLT, Geoserver, REST, SOAP; highly desired

  • Coding experience with Perl, Spring/Spring Boot/Hibernate; highly desired
