Aludyne (Shiloh) Tooling Technician in Auburn, Indiana
[Position Summary: [To build and repair all types, sizes, and shapes of jigs, fixtures, tools, gauges, and dies. Assemble and try out complete tools and dies, trouble shoot tooling for repairs and modifications. *[Duties and Responsibilities:]{arial="" narrow",sans-serif"=""}]{arial="" narrow",sans-serif"=""}]{arial="" narrow",sans-serif"=""}*
- Reads and interprets blueprints or works from verbal or written instructions or from the part to be copied or fitted.
- Welds parts as required.
- Determines specifications for inspection of work, using precision measuring and gauging tools, performing required inspection before during and after machining.
- Performs hand operations involved in producing jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies. Uses hand tools of the trade.
- Fits and assembles jigs, fixtures, tools and dies. Tests dies to produce a product to specifications, tracing die difficulties to their source and correcting same.
- Assists maintenance and set-up personnel in the repair and maintenance of tooling and equipment.
- May work with product designers and customers providing input to manufacturing capability on newly formed products.
- Repair variety of dies and cavities meeting accuracy requirements determining techniques and making decisions on metals, allowances, mechanism detail, fit and assembly.
- Attention to detail in performing work, checking work, and documenting to assure quality, under the supervision of the designated group lead.
- Works in a safe and efficient manner with good housekeeping practices.
