Nesco Resource Product Inspector 1st Shift in Auburn Hills, Michigan

Nesco Resource seeks a Product Inspector Associate for our long-term client in Auburn Hills, MI.

Shift: 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM, Monday through Friday Pay: $15.00/hr

The position requires associates to complete audits on incoming, in-process, and outgoing products as needed. They will provide direction and assistance with sorting and reworking procedures, create, update, and maintain all appropriate documentation relating to the non-conforming material procedure, and review, qualify, and label any suspect non-conforming materials in the process.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Keeps workstation and area around workstation neat and orderly.
  • Understands and properly uses all safety devices and equipment at all times.
  • Capable of participating as a cross-functional team member with the ability to make decisions supporting the APQP process.
  • Understands and follows the principles and procedures of the company's Quality and Environmental policies.
  • Obtains, maintains, and creates accurate reports of daily operations.
  • Supervises and organizes sorting and containment activities. This includes documentation.
  • Selects products for tests at specified stages in the production process, and tests products for a variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical characteristics.
  • Performs and records all auditing functions as required. (Ex.: dock auditing, receiving inspection, steel receiving, BOR & EOR inspection.)
  • Works with operators to explain gauge usage, paperwork, and part acceptance and rejection standards.
  • Maintains up-to-date records and logs.
  • Assists in sorting and salvaging when required.
  • Ability to use all inspection and testing equipment.
  • References computer for instructions and any special requirements.
  • Records the status of all lots into the computer.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
