Nesco Resource Maintenance Technician 1st Shift in Auburn Hills, Michigan

Nesco Resource is seeking Maintenance Technicians for one of our long-term clients in the Auburn Hills Area.

Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures, as well as grounds maintenance. All work will be done in compliance with EPA, Hazmat, and OSHA safety rules and regulations.

This is a 2nd shift position and it starts at $25/hour. The hours are 2:00 pm until 10:00 pm, Monday through Friday with overtime on weekends.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to Quality, Safety, and Environmental Policies
  • Utilize 5s principles to maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Understand and follow all required DOS standards.
  • Ability to troubleshoot & repair all machinery and systems and Tooling (Electrical and Mechanical)
  • Must be able to use various Inspection Measuring and Test Equipment ( I.M.T.E.) equipment
  • Must be able to operate various electric, hydraulic, or pneumatic tools/machines
  • Must be able to read and interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints
  • Must be licensed to operate industrial fork trucks of all types or receive the appropriate training
  • Must be able to work from an elevated platform
  • Ability to work to customer schedules, contact vendors, and procure materials Willing to travel to vendors or to procure materials, work overtime, weekends, holidays, and shutdowns when necessary
  • Willing to attend training courses either on or off-site
  • Must be able to use various hand tools
  • Good attendance record and minimal disciplinary write-ups
  • Must be able to work independently, follow through and complete tasks, and handle a multitasking workload

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Able to read a tape measure and micrometer.
  • Able to read and understand process work instructions.
  • Ability and willingness to make suggestions to supervisor as to changes or improvements to be made in product or work area.
  • Ability to work on & troubleshoot high-power electrical systems
  • Ability to work on & troubleshoot low-power electrical systems
  • Familiar with MISOHA safety codes for industrial machinery, local electrical codes, Lock Out Tag Out procedures
  • Ability to work on & troubleshoot relay logic, industrial fork trucks, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and programmable controllers (PLC)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and make minor modifications to PLC programs, including but not limited to Allen Bradley and Siemens processors.
  • Read and interpret machine electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to write or modify programs for programmable controllers
  • Ability to work with various P.C. and laptop computer systems
  • Ability to work on & troubleshoot touchscreen panels
  • Ability to read electrical schematics
  • Ability to operate an oxygen-acetylene torch, plasma cutter, handheld Arc Welder, hand-held Mig & Tig Welder, & various grinding equipment
  • Ability to design & fabricate various fixtures, jigs, workstations & workstation tools
  • Ability to work on various building and grounds systems
  • Comfortable communicating with team members

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB

  • This is a physically demanding position that requires lifting and carrying up to 60 lbs. The ability to stand continuously is essential, with occasional walking and sitting. The nature of this position will require the employee to perform a wide range of physical activities, from pushing and pulling objects up to 30 lbs. to reaching, bending, and squatting.
  • May be required to work extended hours on occasion.
