Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Collections Specialist in Auburn Hills, Michigan. This role primarily involves the management of customer credit accounts, ensuring the timely collection of payments, and resolving any credit-related inquiries. This position is based onsite and requires extensive phone-based interaction, as well as in-depth analysis and investigation of accounts.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular monitoring of customer credit accounts to identify delinquent payments

• Take appropriate actions to collect overdue payments from customers

• Accurately process customer credit applications, ensuring all information is up-to-date and correct

• Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all customer credit information

• Resolve customer inquiries related to credit in a professional and timely manner

• Utilize various collection strategies to ensure consistent collection of payments

• Conduct analysis and investigation of customer accounts as necessary

• Maintain a consistent schedule for collection activities

• Ensure all collections activities are conducted in compliance with industry regulations and standards

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a Collections Specialist or similar role

• Knowledge of billing procedures and collection techniques

• Familiarity with laws related to debt collection (e.g. FDCPA)

• Working knowledge of MS Office and databases

• Comfortable working with targets and tight deadlines

• Excellent communication and persuasion skills

• Strong negotiation and analytical skills
