UL, LLC Bilingual Program Manager - Korean/English in Auburn Hills, Michigan

The Program Manager collaborates with and supports engineering and laboratory teams to execute large, long-term battery projects.

  • Acts as front-line contact on program-related activities, issues, and risks. Manages risks and issues and takes corrective measurements.

  • Provides overall leadership and support to one or more project teams.

  • Partners with purchasing to develop POs and manages suppliers and vendor relationships.

  • Manages internal and external stakeholder communication.

  • Proactively engages with Sales to establish future projects/programs.

  • Collaborates with Engineering and Lab to plan the overall program and monitors the progress, and performs daily program management throughout the program life cycle.

  • Manages the program’s budget and financial performance.

  • Coordinates the projects and their interdependencies.

  • Manages and utilizes resources across projects.

  • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct, and follow all physical and digital security practices.

  • Performs other duties as directed.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business required. Advanced degree preferred or relevant role experience.

  • PMP and/or Agile certifications preferred.

  • Bilingual in Korean and English required.

  • Over ten years of project management experience running large-scale, distributed/complex projects with multiple parallel threads of work.

  • Large-scale battery module and pack testing or development experience preferred.

  • Experience developing, evaluating and submitting business cases for major capital investments.

  • Experience with cross-geographical project coordination and management.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability, technical and business acumen and industry knowledge

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and proven ability to work effectively cross-functionally.

  • Excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to achieve broadly communicated objectives with a minimal amount of supervision.

  • Ability to promote innovative ideas and accept the risks that are required to lead change.

  • Ability to make decisions independently and to assume higher-level leadership responsibilities in critical situations.

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and financial skills.

  • Ability to innovate under new and/or changing conditions.
